Australia is lucky in that it has at least two excellent laptop bag designers/manufacturers. One of these, Standard Technical Merchandise, has recently produced a chic bag that looks like anything but a laptop bag. Proper laptop bags have padding and other features that really look after your laptop. This little beauty is made from delicious-looking cream and chocolate PU fabric with a water resistant lining, and it’s padded with felt to protect your MacBook. The Latte has an adjustable, wide nylon strap with a thick, well-cushioned shoulder pad. If the shoulder pad is too bulky for you, it’s easily removed. The Latte may be debonair and slim-line, but it even accommodates a big Canon MkII 5D digital SLR with ease, along with a spare zoom lens and its manual, with room left over for other odds and ends. Wide front and back slip-pockets are perfect for sliding documents into — great for travelling — and an additional front zip pocket is big enough to hold an iPod touch and an iPhone, plus other things. Despite the chic styling, the Latte’s stitching is heavy and designed for load bearing. The fittings look and feel good and strong.
